I believe that GoGo 13 first covered this song and the reason the singer sounds like M.C BAT COMMANDER is because it's his brother Parker Jacobs..

Go Go 13 wrote this song WAAAAAAAAY before the Aquabats were even a band! The Lead Singer of G13, Parker Jacobs, is the brother of Christian Jacobs... aka The MC Bat Commander. Parker also went by The Professor during the early years of the Aquabats
