Call out Goose to relief pitch in the 9th. And you were guaranteed that the opposing team wouldn't get another decent hit for the rest of the game. This guy was throwing 96 mph fastballs back then. Nobody could get a hit off of Goose.

I am Goose's nephew, and I believe the "stupid" question was asked after Rick (Goose) had just saved both ends of a double header at Yankee Stadium. Rick blew up at the reporter because the reporter insisted on asking about a lead Rick blew (on the road) a few days prior. The New York press LOVES to dwell on the negative and that was a major sore spot with him.
