14 Anniversary Ale
Firestone Walker Brewing
Beer Geek Nation Rating: A+
Beer Advocate Rating: A-
Rate Beer Rating: 100/100

As a finished beer, 14 is brimming with amazing flavors and textures. DDBA leads the blend lending American toasted oak, English caramel toffee and light leather nuances. Newcomer, Sticky Monkey, folds in the taste of brown sugar, molasses, cinnamon, ginger and ripe figs. Parabola brings the familiar flavors of bitter dark chocolate and cherry pit. Velvet Merkin carries silky bourbon soaked chocolate cake goodness to the party while a touch of Black Xantus teases coffee and tobacco. Last, but not least, Good Foot brings the hops... hints of citrus zest and tangerine, which adds a pop to the aroma and nice finish to this big, sexy brew. 14 is best enjoyed in a half filled brandy snifter or wine glass. Allow it to warm to 55F to fully enjoy the pleasing and complex aromas. If left in a cool dark place, I suspect this beer will age well. It was an absolute pleasure making it and I truly hope you enjoy our fifth oak--aged blend! The journey continues.

  • 4:00 I love this reaction! I'm still sitting on my 14, Abacus and Parabola... waitin for the right time to crack them. I absolutely loved the 13 though, probably one of the most carmelly/toffee forward BBA beers I've ever had!

  • @blackhog42 I never had 13 :( But I cant wait for 15! Ive got a few bottles of this, parabola and abacus as well. FSW just is at the top of the game and for me probably the best brewery in the country right now

  • Do you have a want list somewhere?

  • @chowner Im wedge421 on Beeradvocate. My want list is on there. Cheers

  • Just picked up a bottle today for $21 and it was incredibly worth it. This is really my first blended brew and I am floored. Floored. Firestone continues to astonish, and I am so grateful that I am just a 2 hour drive from these gods.

  • @RoscoeTosscoble Yah this beer is worth every single penny. Its pricey but oh so amazing. Id love to be only 2 hours from them haha. Cheers

  • @BeerGeekNation Agreed, their big beers are untouchable! (and their union jack is one of my go to 6 packs) Can't wait for 15 as well, wish I could afford a few bottles of each vintage, but I always grab my single and hold onto it for a killer time to crack open :)

  • @SouthernOregonOrgani Im really glad to hear you liked this one. This is an amazing beer and easily in my top 5 beers of all time. Just so epically complex. I cant wait for their next batch of Parabola!!

  • Im trying this beer along side with this video, and your totally right. I really culdnt find any words for the first few seconds after trying this one. A+ all the way. arguably the best beer iv ever had.

  • @maidennh The Darkness is coming real soon I promise! Im probably gonna do it for my 1000th subscriber which is only about 200 or so away. Ive had it before and I would say that if you can still get a bottle its worth the $18!
