  • Maestro was the greatest of all, how sad to see him gone so soon...

  • I was very young when Maestro died, not even two. However, in a way that is hard to describe, his music gives me a special, almost magical feeling… and this is one of the songs that does it. He was nothing like today's cookie-cutter artists, he was always unique. And Rampage was such a great album, so many classics off one LP and with such international appeal… making his death a true national tragedy.

  • Radio DJs will not continue to play these classics because of the interest they serve. I guarantee in a year or two these upstarts DJs will be bestowed with honorable titles like the earn it! Is not until TUCO stand up and say enough is enough!! It ought to be illegal that TUCO doesn't have a Radio Station! They tried building a recording studio I told the President (Protector) it would not make sense, what Calypso needs is a Radio Station with Calypsonians as DJs!!

  • Massive respect to Art DeCoteau too yeah...

  • and the same dj's who does play all kinda music during the year does sing a song for the canival and win! palance my ass! go to hell with that shit! maestro forever!

  • Maestro was pissed to the fact in Trinibago we were playing more foreign music rather than Calypso. He observed that the Radio Stations had put Calypso music on de SHELF and were only playing: 40% Funk-Soul music, 20% Jamaican Reggea, 20% Indian music, 10% Ancient Classic and claiming that those DJs had DUMPED Calypso. He documented in the last verse, "...I did not intent to lose control, to promote my calypso through soul..." He never suggested he created the new music he said he promoted it!

  • whats really really really original about this is the arrangement and vocals.this was soca made for a stylish, modern international audience. This guy was a true musical genius whose life was cut short too too young.

  • The sweetest 5:35 of music ever...

  • it is so sad that these ltrics are still so applicable 34 years later!!

  • i just love this song and it's applicable still in our land, a prophet too he was!!!
