Battle Arena! Shooter Mode Lv 30 with no healing

Battle Arena... this optional 17 room gauntlet is one of the most difficult challenges in the game. If you played Portrait of Ruin, then you should notice that the Battle Arena is somewhat similar to the Nest of Evil.

In Shooter mode, Nathan has incredible offense with those super-powered crosses. Of course, being in Shooter mode also means that Nathan has lousy HP and defense, which means I have to be super cautious in the arena since I'm toast in only 3-4 hits. Vampire Killers and Fighters have a much easier time in the arena on the account of having much better durability. And Magicians and Thieves? ... ... AHAHAHAHAHA!!! XD Yeah, they need to be on high levels or have stockpiles of healing items to stand a chance.

Because Shooters survive by killing enemies quickly, I am putting on the best strength boosting equipment in the game. Soldier Fatigues and double Strength Armbands... even though Strength Armbands lower my already fragile defense.

I am not sure why the Battle Arena has no music. Maybe it was for the atmosphere? The silence does kinda add tension and creepiness, I suppose. Even though, I would have preferred some kind of music...

The Minotaur room... ... ... BLAAAARGH! I hate this room more than the double Creature room in PoR! Yes, I planned to take that hit. The best thing I could do in my situation was spam as many attacks as possible when I entered the room and just take a whack. If I didn't, I would have two Minotaurs trapping me in the doorway and using their AXE ENERGY WAVE ATTACKS - which means I would end up taking a lot more than one hit. I was expecting to take an additional hit in either the Succubus or Devil Armor room, but I didn't, so I am pretty damn happy with this arena run.

Heh. The localization team really dropped the ball when it came to the Battle Arena. Carefully read the last text box before Nathan enters the arena. ... ... ... "You efforts" !? What's even worse is the name of the prize that you get for clearing the arena. Shinning Armor? Shining has one "n", not two! The best armor in the game has a spelling error! Oh geeze... XD

Impressive job on the arena though, getting hit only once. Is Nathan really that weedy in Strength/Defense in Shooter mode? I've only played Magician Mode for half an hour or so, never bothered to finish it (too much fiddling with that DSS system all the time) so I haven't unlocked Thief and Shooter yet.

Nathan actually has the same HP, Strength, and Defense values in Magician, Shooter, and Thief mode. Of course, strength is pretty much irrelevant in Shooter mode since his subweapons get such boosted power.

You actually got hit once! But you still didn't heal, so I guess that's OK. DDS would be like the skeleton, right? Would you do a skeleton run if you could?

Yeah, DSS (Dual Set-Up System) is where you combine 2 cards for a magical effect, like Pluto + Black Dog = Skeleton Nathan.

And no... a skeleton arena run (if it was even possible) would be ridiculously dependent on luck. I enter the Wind Demon room. I don't get a SUPER BONE within the first two throws. I die. And this pretty much describes how a lot of the other rooms would play out, like the Minotaur room. And then in the Demon Lord room... errr... yeah... x____X

it is after you defeat dracula in his vampiric form - when you are a vampire killer

then another mode is unlocked the magician - defeat dracula with magician then you can unlock the fighter mode, beat dracula again - you hv unlocked the shooter mode then beat dracula with your shooter you can now have a thief. that's all :))
