...on 15th august, iqbal's "saare jahan se achhaa hindustan humara" is the first song that is being sung after the national anthem-and no body asks why should we sing his song-and remember this song is mostly sung by school children that makes it still more important. now if somebody is out there to confine him to the narrow wall of parochialism, it's his sweet will. that's why i said, we ourselves diminish the stautre of our great men.

wish you must be still deep sunk into the fervour & festivity of Eid. my congrats to you, though a bit late..but you would agree"der aayad, durust aayad". taking forward my earlier comments on Allama and responding u as well, Allama was a staunch anti-colonialist. he was anything only after that. e.g. "Abhi tak aadmi said-e-zaboon-e-sheharyari hai' and many others. he was aware of the perils of the western culture and left words of warnings which of course we ignored.

as for your querry about allama's mission, i think a discussion without head and heart would lead us to nowhere. there are more than one ways of looking at things. though all of them may not be true. but nobody can stop you from making your own interpretations. you are free to reject mine and i may choose to disagree with you. i think my ealrlier posts do answer your querry. i consider him a treasure of the shared history and culture. nothing more
