Rooktabula: John King Needs To Worry About Being Too Much of a Right Wing, Water Carrying, Douche Nozzle.

Charter schools are fine, but we can't just throw public schooling under the bus. There are still MANY that will never be able to afford charter and private schools, and a voucher will simply not be enough. Funding for public schooling needs to be boosted...big time, and their standards need to be dramatically higher. If we can blow over $10 billion a month in a senseless war that should have been over a long time ago, and fork over almost a trillion to wall street...then there's no excuse left.
-
our public schools are the worst among the industrialized nations... if you look at the leaders many of them have voucher systems or some sort option for school choice.. in los Angeles our charter schools have shamed public schools by severely outperforming them
the voucher system attaches the public funds to the student and the parent chooses which school they want their child to go to.. obama is for charter schools but he was sketchy on vouchers
-
Very nicely put.

umm...McCain was the proponent of Vouchers and charter schools. Obama wants to actually reform public schooling with much higher standards and better funding. Vouchers only act as coupons for wealthy folks, for working class people, charter and private schools are still WAY too expensive...even with vouchers.

john has a good point.. what originally attracted me o obama was his interest in vouchers and charter schools.. im not sure ill like it if he doubles down on public schools

he can be liberal all he wants on some issues but I would bet that he will govern from the center like Clinton.
He never seemed too liberal to me, its just another Republican talking point. He didn't offer radical ideas and seemed more old-school conservative than McCain did at times.
Conservatives backed him so I would also bet on there being some Republicans in his cabinet. Bush put the government in control of right wing nut jobs with his politicizing of our gov. We should avoid that
-
I do wish he would go a bit more left for sure.
If we will learn from the right western countries, we can have universal healthcare and at the same time make the system more cost effective. There are plenty of proven options around the world. Canada, france, UK, etc... all have different but effective programs that are at least better then ours at taking care of all people for less cost, usually less hassle, and covering more stuff for most people.

yeah, its stupid to think he won so he could just be a centrist and worry about keeping conservatives happy
But, 2 thing. First, he actually is a centrist. He always has been. I dont know if that will change. It may depend on how hard the dems in congress do their job in pushing some liberal agendas. But we know how chicken the older ones are
Second, socialist was a stupid critique because to EU our left is still centrist.
A centrist here is to the right in EU where socialism is alive and well
Obama can be as liberal as he pleases... He simply has to do what he has always done, which is to make his case eloquently to the American people. That's what his campaign did, and WE CHOSE HIM. I expect him to be bolder than most suspect he will be, but also more convincingly cogent and reasonable.
and I can't wait.
Peace to ALL. :-D

How can he alienate them with a liberal agenda if they voted for him BECAUSE of his liberal agenda? These news media assholes need to start talking about how to move forward instead of sticking to policies that failed almost 30 years ago. This is the disaster that is our national media...what a bunch of losers. "We know the people voted Democrat, but that Democrat better act Republican!!" What a crock of shit.
