Driving towards the North Shore of O'ahu on H2.

Interstate H-2 (abbreviated H-2) is an intrastate interstate highway located on the island of O'ahu in Hawai'i, USA. H-2 is also known as the Veterans Memorial Freeway. Despite the number, this is a north-south interstate—the 'H'-series (for Hawaii) numbering reflects the order in which routes were funded and built. Its southern terminus is at Interstate H-1 in Pearl City, and its northern terminus is at Wilikina Drive (Route 99) in Wahiawā near Schofield Barracks and Wheeler Army Airfield.

  • I was in F Quad with A Co 3/22 INF (90-93). Remember going to East Range for Land Nav,Air Assault School.Had some good times there!!

  • Hi Aver, yep I was in C Quad. 2nd Brigade. I wish I had gone aviation, bet that was cool. Man, my back and legs still creak thanks to those heavy rucksacks and the Kahuhus deep gulches!

  • Where you at Schofield? I was too with 1/25 AVN. We were in B quad. I frikken loved being posted in HI!

  • I was 11B in the 1-14th 1990 - 1993. It wasn't a lot of fun at the time, but now, 15 years later, I realize those were some of the best days of my life. Enjoy where you guys are, make the best of it and have fun. Time will come when you'll look back and only remember the good.

  • i was thrown there because i got dropped from airborne school. rather than fayettenam they put me in schofield. luck of the draw with needs of the army, man. i think 2008 is a 2nd brigade deployment, but it's been 2 years since i was there, it could have changed now. months before deployment they usually open up units for "needs of the army"
