owner operators are going out of business??? truck drivers are middle class along with cops, teachers, and firefighters. those ritch fukers are happy because they dont worry about this shit. i hope the good old days of $1.22 a gallon of diesel would come back. every high price today would fall

It's a lot worse here in the UK I pay about $8.50 a US gallon... You guys complain but you have it so easy compared to the lorry industry here and normal people...I'm not saying you don't have it hard, But lorry drivers here don't only have high fuel costs to compete with, other lorrys that come from frnace where fuel is cheaper, hence foreign lorrys are more competative if they don't fill up here! $4.5 pergallon is a stupid amount of tax.. You guys pay little tax it could be worse!!

Fuel then brokers hiding under a umbrella of secrecy, 935 carriers with 10 or more trucks fell last month. Costs are up at the store, but rates are not being passed to the trucks. The middle guys are padding their pockets. The shippers are dictating the rates. Big bank brokers. When secrecy of rates is allowed, people become very Powerful. Consumers pay a high price for this secrecy.
We have no negotiation out here. We could use the consumers help to tell Congress what is going on. Corruption!
