This time it's Chorweiler station. This station in the far north of Cologne is somewhat unique: Besides being the largest underground station in the city, it also is the only one used by both light and heavy rail. It was opened in 1975 along with the whole neighborhood. Today it is used by KVB line 15 as it's northern terminus and DB's S-Bahn line 11 to/from Düsseldorf via Neuss and Dormagen. Therefor, it offers direct connections to the Central stations of both Cologne and Düsseldorf, Düsseldorf Airport as well as the districts of Deutz, Mülheim and Nippes within Cologne. By lightrail, major transit hubs such as Ebertplatz, Hansaring where you'll meet the S11 again and Barbarossaplatz can be reached. On the surface, a bus terminal features connections to the towns and villages in the closer vicinity.
Chorweiler as a borough, for many years had a very bad reputation throughout the city for being a place of huge crime rates and terribly failed social politics, but during the last few years many things have become better, so doing recordings there is not much more risky than anywhere else in the city.
Filmed on user request. If you would like recordings from a certain location in the Cologne transit network, leave a comment/message/whatever please, and I'll see what I can do.

I had heard about Chorweiler's bad reputation back when I lived in Cologne in 1996-97.
