@fisherguzzi, People have a history of those things, and all the things you listed would have happened regardless of religion. In fact, they still do; committed by both religious and non-religious people. Just because I believe in this doesn't necessarilly make me "vile, primitive, desperate, uneducated, sick, silly, close minded" all these words you use to describe religion; implicating its followers. It is possible to have a rational belief and describe why you feel it's not just a fairy tale.

Religion has a long history of sanctioned torture, abuse, holy wars, etc and are desensitized to it. "Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction". - Blaise Pascal. Maybe you can see abuse and will walk by, but I can't. This is a horrific story of abuse in this video and honoring it is vile. In order to be forgiven blood has to be shed. What a horrid premise for a religion, quite primitive. Time to grow up.

The under-privilege, desperate & uneducated can be take advantaged of. See horror in Ghana. I grew up in the church, went to christian schools, became a minister, read the bible yearly. I can't help you because your mind is closed to believing an ancient myth. I fortunately was able to break free from it by learning its roots, history & seeing its affects. He sacrificed himself to himself to appease himself then burned nearly all of those he did it for. Imagine No Religion. Peace!

@fisherguzzi For example, a lot of African and Indian people understand it very well because a lot of them are very spiritual people. Many Western people don't read the scriptures and don't grasp spiritual concepts very well. And actually, I did not grow up in church. So assume what you will, I can't help what you think because your heart is closed to it. Peace!

It is literally the sickest story ever told. It is primitive thinking that blood will make things right. God created a world that he knew would fail (poor design) and the only answer was to sacrifice himself to himself so he could save mankind. Silly and childish. If you lived in a non-Christian country and therefore would be whatever religion was there you would recognize how sick & silly it is. You grew up with it and were told it was true (like Santa Claus) so you think it is true.
