Undefeated No. 1 super welterweight contender and former U.S. Olympian Vanes "The Nightmare" Martirosyan working out May 19 with his trainer, Edmond "The Diamond" Tarverdyan at the Glendale Fighting Club. (601 South Brand Blvd., Glendale, Calif. 91205.)
Like the way he blocks the right hand , and coming back with the straight right at the same time.

@hektor54 Vanes' chin is questionable. But one must consider that he's training with Freddie Roach, Manny Pacquiao, Tim Bradley, Amir Khan and Julio Chavez Jr. He's only going to get better from here. I think he was right to turn down Angulo. As his manager and uncle said, he's been #1 in the WBC for a year. He should be able to fight Canelo by now. My only worry is his height. 6 feet is really tall for 154. He should try and use his height to his advantage.

vanes looks legit, but he's been down before.. its a good management call not to face perro angulo who is a bonafide ko artist in his own respect.. not sold on a fight with canelo, but someone like chavez jr may be better suited and it would be a fun fight for us fans.. nonetheless, vanes is looking the part..
