No, they are really shitty blowers. Ian and me just had to see if we could get some noise out of my 1000T. First we tried the shopvac, then we tried the leafblower. It was loud as hell but it soon started starving for air as the chopper picked up speed. Niether the leafblower or the shopvac can generate the pressure needed to produce sound levels at chopper speeds higher than 2000RPM.

  • You didnt give it a chance to go full speed

  • @nickman888 It doesn't matter, it ran out of air before it hit full speed

  • Was she originally painted black or is that a personal aftermarket application?... after retirement that is. LOL If you can get a-hold of an industrial strength centrifugal blower and hook it up that would certainly be one hell of a "roar".

  • I have the single phase roots blower for this siren.

  • Did you use an ordinary handheld leaf blower that you can pick up for about $50 or did you use one of the huge, very powerful backpack style leaf blowers that cost around $400-$500?

  • What if you combined both the shopvac and the leaf blower all together?

  • Most thunderbolt videos make the sirens appear smaller than intended. Seeing this video makes you appreciate how large these things are :)

  • whats the PSI needed for the thunderbolt

  • @TheFiremansavage xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD At first I got everything royally confused, but now that I've been into sirens for a while I can usually make a decent guess. :p

  • @HardDriveGuru yep, my friends daughter thaught a thunderbolt was a flower at first, and i didnt know waht the blower was

  • @TheFiremansavage I know that now. But we all have to start out somewhere, right?

  • @HardDriveGuru OMG, it mean when you hook up the blower to a thunderbolt
