This is the new 2011 USDF training level 1 test. I was so proud of Oliver, he was such a good boy even though he was a little distracted by his surroundings. He really listened to me and did everything I asked him to do. This was our second time riding training level, we got 4th place :)

  • Haha lol I'm guessing Oliver almost stepped out of the arena at 3:47 ? Hehe, my Thoroughbred does that too and I'm thinking, Oh. My. God. If you get me disqualified... .NO TREATS FOR YOU! Anyway, absolutely gorgeous horse. You guys look like a great pair. You're allowed to wear boots/polos wear you live? Because where I live if you go into the show arena (even a schooling one) with even just galloping/bell boots on, you get disqualified.

  • @horsestar45 haha yep! He was totally about to, he tries it every time :P He actually has jumped out of the arena before, it was so embarassing! lol. Yeah at schooling shows we are allowed to wear polos or boots but you can't at the rated shows. Maybe the rules are different in different regions or something.

  • I'm doing training 1 as well as 2 and 3 for the next show :) test one's a little weird, but it's oddly the one I like best out of all three XD Do you get extra points for keeping the horse on the bit at this level? just wondering.

  • @xxxfantasyhorse haha i've heard that from a lot of people! I haven't done training 2 or 3 yet but I am going to do 2 at an upcoming show. You don't get extra points for going on the bit but you do get higher scores. Thats something the judge told me at this show. lol my horse didnt want to go on the bit in the canter or in the second half of the test :P

  • @ilovemyhorse32 okay, that's good to know :) How long have you been doing dressage? Have you ever tried jumping?

  • @xxxfantasyhorse I've been doing dressage for about 2 years but only started showing last year when I got my horse. I have done a little jumping but not in a looonggg time! haha

  • Great job!! You and your horse are fantastic together! I did training level test ? and I placed 1st. It was my first show ever. I got to do it on a spectacular 23 year old Friesian mare. If i were on any other horse I would have broken down. xD

  • Great test! Cute little horse!

  • @eqnfun00 Thank you! I am so glad it was helpful to you :D
