In his Feb. 7, 2010 sermon, pastor Greg Boyd examines Judas Iscariot's betrayal of Jesus. Was Judas motivated by greed? Or something else? The full sermon can be downloaded here: http://www.whchurch.org/content/page_948.htm
I think that Judas had a job to do that he did not want. But he did it as a loyalty to Jesus,so the prophecy could be fulfilled, and he felt so guilty that he committed suicide.
@hemet92544 I pity you for blindly buying into the piece of Roman propaganda that is The Gospel of John. Judas , if he existed , would`ve lived in a very tumultuous time . BTW , even John says Judas was a human being within whom " Satan indwelled " at The Last Supper . And , you do realize saying Judas ( whose name is literally Latin for " Jew " or " Judean " ) was " Satan in the flesh " gives off an anti-semitic connotation , right ?
your confused dude. If you don't agree with flexible sovereignty its because you don't understand it. There is nothing 'unbiblical' about it. If the Bible means what it says then God has full flexibility to do as he pleases and no Calvinist can put Him in a box to do what WAS planned. If Calvinists are right then the first though God ever had about everything, He is stuck with because He now has to do what He saw would happen. God is God and can do as He pleases and change things at will.
You have to be very careful what you read into that event, best way to look at it is from God's own perspective. Matt 26:24 The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born. Now for God to say that means that He views it as a very bad thing and does not feel sympathy.
i think this guy is pretty good and has alot of great stuff to say, i just dont like being yelled at, lol. maybe cuz im not amricain. this one isnt acctualhy to yelly
Greg Boyd makes a lot of unbiblical assumptions, which is not a surprise considering he's an open theist. Why not let scripture interpret scripture?
"While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have given Me; and I guarded them and not one of them perished but the son of perdition, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled."

He didn't. Both Jesus and Judas are fictional characters. Why are supposedly educated adults debating this?

God and Satan had a battle
Satan betrayed God in the beginning, and went to his new home
Satan became flesh in the garden, a snake, betrayed Adam
Judas betrayed Jesus, ( Jesus is God in the flesh )
Judas is really the Devil, Satan. ( Judas is Satan in the flesh )
Judas sacrificed his flesh, went to his own place
Jesus sacrificed his flesh, went to his own place
Jesus and Satan are still alive, and both still walk the earth and battle
