hey all! just a quick post on my ideas for basic bushcrafting items for a starting kit. also i have some news about a new bushcrafter in the youtube community!
I would recommend that you induce a patina on the mora. Its basically a controlled layer of rust that'll prevent bad rust and pitting. Just stick the blade into a potato overnight or into an apple for a few hours. The blade will start to turn grey and that color will get darker over time.
yeah just make sure it can throw sparks and for cotton balls you could use finely shredded birch bark or pine resin. or just buy some cotton balls there real cheap
i think i said this in other vids but you can get 3 military spec fire steels for 14 bucks at sportsmans guide
