At time of posting the direction was still planned as clockwise. Only later was it changed.

You're not fully correct there. Before 2008 Singapore had hoste a few Grands Prix on a streetcircuit but these were only of Formula 2 regulations.

@GTAstuntz: it's true. A long time ago, Singapore organised races following Formula 1 regulations, however they didn't count as world championship races.
They're still F1 races though;)

Sure?! That's impossible, you go check the calendars in 1960s, it cannot be. Singapore never had Formula 1 till 2008...

It's not that narrow like Monaco, it's narrowest part is Anderson Bridge, around 6m to 8m wide. There will be improvements this year to, including a wider track and more overtaking.

and i would like to add Singapore has fighter jets guarding our skies throughout the race... bet Malaysia don't have that...
