shadowplay 2

Prototyping session for new exhibition at the NY Hall of Science called ShadowPlay. Two things that aren't obvious from seeing the exhibition:

1) It can be dismantled in about 2 hours so the room can be used for other purposes.
2) It was conceived, designed, and built all by NY Hall of Science staff, a first for the Hall in our 25 years.

yeah, the moire patterns are the coolest part of the overhead projectors, and we are going to put out laminated hand-puppet instructions. Anything that blocks light, even transluscent, makes a shadow, not all shadows are black.

This looks beautiful! Great use of the big space. Love the shadow of the floating objects in the tube. I think the overhead projector stuff might be tough; it will be way more exciting to visitors to make hand puppets than to move the flat items around (and I don't understand how the flat items are really about shadow).
