Crash into house / car on Willow Creek Drive

On the afternoon of Thr 27 May 2010, a woman admits to Roanoke County police officer that she bent over to get her purse and went off the road. Roanoke County Fire & Rescue Company 5 from Hollins responded also.

The Honda was unoccupied, the house was occupied by the resident and her young child, in the living room, which was the point of impact of the house.

Had the Honda not been there, it is thought that she would have crashed straight into the living room of the house and possibly cause serious injury to the occupants.

The woman refused transport to the hospital and claimed no injury. Weather or not she was wearing a seat belt was not acquired by myself.

The first arriving police officer asked me why I was video taping.

The woman went over the driveway and then between two trees, at which point her Dodge Caravan bottomed out on the ground (you can see where the under carriage drug on the video) proceeded to clip the front stoop of one house, drive over the sidewalk and T-Bone the parked Honda in the driveway.

The Honda appears to be totaled. Note worthy is the airbag in the van did NOT go off!

The driver claimed to be doing less than 25 mph.

The lady in the blue shirt had JUST MOMENTS earlier delivered a pizza to the SIDE DOOR of the residence. If the timing had been any worse, the lady in blue might well be a fatality.

Once the cars were removed it appeared at a casual visual inspection no damage was suffered to the house other than a crushed down spout.
