2P First Run On Track At Bromsgrove

This is the inaugural run of the Barrett engineering 2P at my club at Bromsgrove. She performed well after what seems like an age in getting parts out of the company. I was supposed to be doing a right up for the gauge one magazine on this model but quite frankly this has not been done due to time it has taken in getting the parts and instructions. It is classed as a "starter kit" but believe me IT'S NOT!. Instructions have been incorrect, parts not finished properly (there was no oil feed hole in the steam chest) and diagrams referred to other models in the range and not the one in question which could be very confusing to a "Starter". When you send an email to the company they very rarely answer it so support could be a lot better. At the time of this upload there was still no sign of the cab vent and the one on the model running is one I fabricated my self. When you consider the tender was finished two years ago it has taken this long to get all the other parts. In fairness to the company, they have suffered some personal trauma but this far down the line the loco should have been sorted out. A friend of mine also built his at the same time and come across similar errors!. The painting and lining is by Chuffed 2 Bits in Warwick using two pack isocyanate paint. The loco is without axle pump at present but could be fitted with one in the future.This beautifully finished model is currently for sale on the chuffed2 bits web site at www.chuffed2bits.com.
