The REU program pairs undergraduates with a University of Texas faculty mentor to explore research in the fields of ecology, geology, hydrogeology, civil engineering, urban planning, GIS, coastal ecology, and maybe even research that cuts across the boundary of two or more disciplines. It is funded by the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Defense.
