If you're wondering why Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine and Kirby's Avalanche played like a certain someone, that's because they do for a reason. The aforementioned titles were retooled versions of Puyo Puyo in an attempt to help them sell in the U.S. Here's the Non-Kirby version of the game.

The first in the series (not the first Puyo Puyo game, just a version of the first), the game feels a little dated compared to the others, but is a good puzzle game nonetheless. The music in this one doesn't quite match some of the other games. Maybe I'm silly, but I actually like Kirby's Avalanche more! We're starting to compile a number of Puyo vids (no pun intended) so the description will be breif: Match four of the same color puyo to make them vanish. Stack em up and let 'em fall for chains. A "four" chain is usually enough to slam the computer badly. Enjoy.

  • Puyo Puyo is an addictive puzzler. The Super Famicom version does edge out the Mega Drive counterpart (sound-wise), though it's pretty much the same game.
