Chords for Danny Kirwan's Jigsaw Puzzle Blues.

Here my guitar has a bit too high volume to emphasize the rhythm guitar part of the tune.

Lead Guitar: Geoff Whitehorn.

  • Thanks a bunch man. Kirwans lead is awesome but i always liked the chord progression in this song. You make it so easy. Can you tell me the notes youre playing in that Bbdim7. Or is a Bdim7 instead of bflat because when i play b instead it sounds like yours. Not sure...

  • Thanks for feedback man!

    The Bb dim7 chord has the following notes;

    4th string G

    3rd string C#

    2nd string E

    1st string Bb

    It's named a Bb dim7 in this particular case because I think the base plays a Bb note at the same time. (I've not checked that however.) It coincides with other dim chords as well. But a B dim7 will NOT fit in. The solo guitar plays arpeggios on Bb dim7 fitting notes at the same time as well; and that will not fit a B.

    Casually speaking the chord is a 'B-flat dim'.

  • Thanks Sven, this is one of my favourite Fleetwood Mac tunes, your version of the lead part is cool!

  • Thanks!

  • Hey Sven, what do you think to my bass cover of Jigsaw?

  • Great work, thx.

  • good video work mate, like/appreciate how u put the chord names up on the changes.

    love to see more fleetwood chord stuff from that era...

  • Thanks, Bbdim7 has the same notes as Edim7. Calling it Edim7 here may make more sense because of the progression around it. A-> E makes sense. A->Bb->E not so much. No matter. 30 bars total. Starting with 8 bars in Dm. 12 in A. 12 in E. Finishing with 8 bars in Bm. |Dm|Bb7 A7| x3 |Dm|Eb E| |A|A|A|A| |D9|D9|A|A| |E9|F9 E9| |A A7 D Dm| A B| |E|E|E|E| |A|Edim7|E|E| |B9|C9 B9| |E E7 A Am| E F#| |Bm| G7 F#7| x4 Bm
  • Nice work, mate! I wish there were more people like you posting on youtube - people who actually know what they are doing.

  • thank you so much for this!! i'm currently learning the song and it's great to see what chords are being used!! could you please tell me what scales danny's playing as well? i can play it pretty much note for note but i like to know the theory behind the playing!! thanks again man

  • Sven, You Rule!! I've loved this song for 30 years and, now I know how to play it. There aren't many songs where you can say that the chords are as interesting as the soloing, but this is certainly one exception. It also seems that every song I learn has that one chord that gives me fits, in this case the Bbdim7. I play the version of it that's closer to the bottom of the neck, and it puts me in position to fall right onto the E ... thanks again man

  • Lol thanks man. I was playing that chord thinking it was a b thinking you might have messed up and i was thinking Bb was moving the chord a fret down. Lol sorry. Thanks again man
