His timing and inflection at 3:10 is PERFECT when she says he's the first man in five years who didn't tell her she looked like Veronica Lake inside of a minute and he says "You look better than Veronica Lake." Classic.

My God the moment he says: "You are better than her" so straightforward,so manly like,so simple!!!!!So fucking awesome cool a man to show in this way what he thinks of a woman!!!!How to resist to a man like him.I don't think that in reality we can find those guys,Russell is an exception! One of the best movies of all time. Not sure how Titanic beat it for Best Picture. Everything about it is completely right on the mark. Love Wendell and Edmund the best. Love when they become brothers for life. OMG...Hansen is an amazing director and of course all of the actors in this movie are beyond outstanding. Favorite line uttered by Sgt Jack Vincennces. "No...it's felony possesion of marijuana" This is a must own movie!!

Kim Basinger and Russell Crowe were so fantastic in this. Great chemistry with one another. And @mothersfreakout, I'm sick of women swooning for any man who has a hero complex and who think throwing punches is the definition of masculinity. There's a lot of strong women who manage to defend themselves, who don't wait around for a man to protect them.
