@andrewjization Thats very nice of you to say about him.. Did you know Frank Sutton (sgt carter)and he were very good friends until frank's untimely death in shreveport La in the early 70's. the opening credits of gomer pyle USMC, where Jim and Frank were marching with other ppl, those other ppl were real United States Marines, Most of them went to Viet Nam, alot never came back. Jim was named an honorary Marine. if i told you all that already, please disregard, i have epilepsy

I grew up with Gomer Pyle and it was a great show. Goofy character but always a lesson in goodness. Few back then knew of Jim Nabors' incredible voice, but I heard it many years ago and think his light was hidden under that bushel for too long. You go, Gomer!

I am going into the marines when I'm 18, and this song is basically saying, "Do you have what it takes?" I pray I do. I wanna be one of those people who will, as it says at 1:46 "TO BE WILLING TO MARCH INTO HELL FOR A HEAVENLY CAUSE." I wanna be one of those men. I really do. Thank you, Jim Nabors. Thank you. I hope I meet you someday, but if not, I hope I will see you in Heaven.

This is absolutely amazing! I grew up on "Gomer Pyle, USMC" as a kid and to hear this voice come from Jim Nabors as Gomer Pyle is the best! I think that "Gomer Pyle" was the Susan Boyle of his time!

Jim Nabors, I grew up on gomer pyle. Im black and most blacks only like black music. and I do as well. but something about a few songs , especially this one , Jim makes your hair stand up. he was a hell of an actor. If only everybody in this world of all culture and race. was like the character, he played Gomer Pyle. It would be a wonderful fair world.
