Tailgating Cop

Short video of a cop tailgating a car on Route 80 here in Rockaway, New Jersey traveling around 70mph. Notice how the cop is hugging the yellow line. Just crazy. I wish I filmed what he did next. It was priceless. Tailgating is a 5 point ticket here in NJ.

When you see a trooper in your review mirror and you are in the left lane, that means move the hell out of the way. You have no business in the left lane to begin with unless you are lawfully passing other vehicle(s). There are plenty of signs that clearly state "KEEP RIGHT, PASS LEFT."

He's breaking the law? Pull him over. "We aren't 'Required' to use our lights." Way to respect those who you pay your salary and you wish to respect you. "Our department doesn't req bblinker use." @xen0nflash You're a fucking idiot, trying to have your say. That car was PASSING, which is what the sign details (Fucking moron, it's not just there for a police officer tailgating you.). Obviously the left hand lane is the passing lane, which this car was doing, so explain why a police officer can drive within 10 feet of another vehicle like this and apparently you ignore reality and defend them anyways? He could kill someone, and fuck you if you think differently, that's not an opinion.

plus not a lot of people will pass a police officer, so they go faster than everyone else so there is no traffic.

police cant sit behind one car. another part of their job is looking up plate numbers. they cant do that sitting behind one car. and for any car that you see is faster than you, just let them by and get back over, not hard.

you know what, ive always had issues with this passing lane shit. car in the right lane going 55 mph, car in the "passing lane" going 55 mph passing others? because there is "no such thing as a fast lane." so how can you pass cars going the same speed as you? i only drive in the left lane when i need to turn left down the road. you don't have to worry about traffic not letting you over while you need to go left. i hate sitting on the highway completely stopped because i just can't get over.

It happened to me that i was coming down the hill within the speed limited and i was tailgating by the police officer in the car ,and i did not slow down as i thought that the police officer will rear end into by car and later i was pulled over and charged for exceeding the speend ,the case is coming for the hearing.

Cop clearly in the wrong here. Following another car at freeway speeds less than a car length behind the car in front of him. If that car had slammed on his brakes, the cop would hit before he could react.

I would hope the NJ state police gave that cop a ticket for endangering other drivers. He'd be quick enough to give a regular person a ticket for that behaviour, he's not above the law, no matter how much cops would like to think they are.
