In 1981 there was a meeting of physicists to try and decode some of the mysteries about how particles of particular elemental compounds function. During this discussion Stephen Hawking stated that the information inside a black hole is lost forever as the black hole evaporates where as Leonard Susskind had other idea's. This feud of the titans would become one ingrained in scientific history.
@SomeWise it is bollocks. Feynman is one of those physicists that CANNOT be forgotten.

Feynman unknown? I think that's bollocks.

I understand what you are referring to in the documentary in regards to Hawkings 'mental map' but I think we have to be careful here not to assume that this visualization ability is a conclusively stronger advantage over an unrealised potential had he maintained all his motor and communication skills. A mind strong enough to overcome such hinderances may have been further more powerful completely uninhibited...

I wonder what he reasoned about his trip to the emergency room. Who can solve the problem of taking your last breath? That's one worth working on.

@exstazyunior the reason he can do what he does is because he got that "als".

@00Avenger17 you should rewatch the first part cause you seem to have missed that.

Hawking would absolutely pwn if he was fully able to do calculations on his own... =)
