Ripley has just become human. I hated him all along unti the speech.
But Peter is not cruel as he may seem.
If he didn't love Natalie, he wouldn't have done what he have done. He would have insisted and got Ripley, or just vanished.
Maybe ha was just angry, or maybe he didn't want her to suffer for a lost chance, but surely he is not the ruthless schemer it may look like.

@DoctorWhoAwsomness As in turning out to be an absolute bastard in the end...basically a watered-down equivalent to his character in "Secret Smile." He is a brilliant actor, and he is good at being bad, let's just say that XD

Oh my god it's so sad at the start of this part!
You think you'd never feel bad for ripley as he can be so mean but then he gives his wife a speech like that and your heart just cracks.

im i the only one who watched that scene with the argument between peter and natalie, peters way of helping her get past it? he loves her and he knows she loves him but wont give up her family for him so getting her to hate him makes her decision justified
