1d barcode scanning with iPhone camera

1d barcode taken with iPhone camera scans successfully in Delicious Library.

To be clear, I took a photo of a 1d barcode with the 1st-generation iPhone camera, pulled the photo up on the iPhone screen, held it in front of a Macbook Pro's iSight camera, and had Delicious Library try to scan the barcode... and it did! This confirms that it is feasible to scan a 1d barcode from an image captured by the iPhone camera.

Occipital used to have an SDK to do barcode scanning on iPhone called RedLaser. Looks like it was sold to eBay. Not sure if the SDK is still available.
