Using food colors diluted before application to achieve pastel dyed wool. This is a quick and easy way to dye wool or other protein fibers with food colors from the grocery store and a microwave oven. When dry the fiber is super for hand spinning.
This is a great method!! I tried it last night and loved it!! I only did a small quantity of fiber so I adjusted the time accordingly but it turned out marvellous!!
Thanks for the kind words. (Signed in on my other channel as RallyJudge, it's me, Ruthie) - - I didn't invent this and have been doing it so long I don't remember where I learned it. It is fun, and fast. With food colors you don't have to worry about special pots and pans - makes it nice. The more you play the better it gets. Good luck. Hope you have as much fun as I do, and then the carding and spinning makes it even better. I made a baby bonnet out of the yarn
