Second of a six-part series detailing how to create great Halloween/Phantom of the Opera makeup on a budget. Learn how to create basic 3-dimensional effects using simple techniques and low cost materials.

In this second video, we discuss using liquid latex to create various Halloween makeup effects. Latex allergies and alternatives are mentioned, as well as types of foundation makeup to use.

Foundation Makeups:
- Rubber Mask Greasepaint (specially formulated for use on latex)
- Creme Makeup (requires castor sealer for use on latex)
- Water based Makeup (cake makeup, etc)
- Alcohol-activated Makeup
- Setting Powder (for greasepaint and creme makeups, talc powder will also suffice)
- Setting spray (to seal water-based makeup)

  • Question!

Isn't fake eyelash glue technically liquid latex?

  • I know some eyelash adhesives have latex in them, but not knowing the mixture and other compounds, I don't know if it's similar to liquid latex or not.
