Most things labeled comedic I find forced and boring. I can watch Andy Kaufman segments on repeat. Justifiably so the word genius tends to come up frequently with him, especially for those who really appreciate his unique trajectory. No seriously.

A good comedian can make people laugh with their words, a genius can make people laugh with silence.

This vid should be renamed "Andy Kaufman bombs on purpose."

my gosh, he took me for ride - a round trip ride! woohooh!

If you don't get Kaufman after watching this... Remember Eeee Eeee.... The Drums were on the stage Eeee Eeeee... Before he ever said a word Eeee Eeee..

to me, the humour is in the awkwardness. Only a couple of other comedians come close to this kind of humour and they are Larry David and Ricky Gervais. The material isn't funny as such but the awkward silences and actual acting makes me laugh so hard, and feel guilty at the same time.

@DismayOfficial He's very much like Gene Wilder, that's probably why you think that.

i havent heard the "furries" with the fringe on top joke......too funny .....his genius allowed him a "stab in the dark attempt" at what was otherwise a bad joke.......and made it so completely funny. He saw the right oddities in everything and knew how to poke fun at things that took your normal person by surprise. Indeed hats off to Andy....I really loved him. He can make your ribs hurt still.

Well played, sir.

The ordinary comedian TELLS jokes TO the audience. Andy Kaufman PLAYS jokes ON the audience.
