The Matrix Aesthetic

Assignment to create a scene with the assigned aesthetic. My assigned one was The Matrix. I used a very close soft light on the guy to give it a classic Bill Pope style with a hard hard in the back to give some edge light.

The scene I was supposed to emulate aesthetically was the club scene with Neo talking to Trinity. I flat lit the girl to give the same feeling.

The green look was made by white balancing to a light pink. I filmed with the Canon EOS Rebel T2i with a variety of lenses.

Not a perfect scene, but good I think.

I held a plastic pink toy over one of the lights which casted a pinkish shadow on a piece of white paper. I took a picture of it and set the custom WB to that picture.
