Moe is 16 yr old BGM that was adopted. Although he became a great pet and working bird, Maturity and his hormones set in and he has become aggressive and highly territorial. This video series will address strategies to retrain this bird for management. For now he is retired as a working bird until I work through these issues. For the companion owner, my goal is to help you understand aggression and to deal with it safely.

I filmed this segment in between my cleaning routine. I pulled bowls for the dishwasher and I pulled toys out for cleaning. I also want the viewer to see the birds well. I recycled old phone books and hung half a phonebook in each macaw cage. By the end of the day, everybody shredded everything up completely. What a mess.... but they had fun. Today, I have to clean it all up with a shop vac.

  • Is becoming aggressive something natural? My mom has a severe Macaw, about 3 years old. Do you think he will get along with a baby Blue and Gold macaw? If not, how can i make them be friends?

  • where can you buy cages for macaws i cant find any at my local petsmart

  • This was interesting. When I joined the Army I had to leave my B&G with my parents who he was also bonded to. He began to hate me so much during that time that I couldn't go near him without him charging me and screaming super loud. After 7 long years of service I was able to bring my B&G home with me. I was afraid he'd be hard to deal with but he instantly became his sweet self. I think was just so mad at me. He even bit me several times, hard!! I have a few videos of him, he is funny again!!

  • Very interesting. And if you don't mind me asking what kind of cage is that?

  • did you take all there toys out of their cages?
