Me and a couple other classmates had to make this book trailer as an end-of-the-year project. Please excuse the crappiness of the filming. not my fault. none of that chain letter crap.

SPOILER ALERT! I have read all the books from the series (The Giver-The Messenger). Jhonas is in fact alive in the third book. If you have also read Gathering Blue you would know what im talking about. In the third book Matt becomes Mattee in ''yonder village''. In the third book they also talk about An 8 year old named Gabriel. And guese who is their ''chiefe so to speake... Jonas!

at my school library that book is in there and i read the book and i am more than happy to say that is and will remain my favoeite book

weird how the giver has been removed from public libraries and school libraries by some arguments about the book because its said that people are frighted of this book. i think its a great book anyone who wants an amazing novel to read choose this one. i dont know but this book just made me feel what if this really happened? but still how can school districts be afraid of this book?

Lowry leaves the ending open for the reader to interpret. There are 2 basic interpretations - 1 jonas and Gabe really do make it to "elsewhere" and find a warm loving family celebrating Christmas to welcome them. 2 - perhaps Jonas is remembering a Christmas memory - one of the most beautiful things the Giver ever gave him - as he had Gabe are freezing to death. There are 2 other books by Lowry that accompany The Giver. One is Gathering Blue, and the other is The Messenger.
