From the state of California's infancy, our relationship to San Francisco Bay, the most urbanized estuary in the United States, has been a complex one, ranging from a sense of wonder and awe to one of neglect and exploitation. As we've come to appreciate the connection between the Bay's health and our own, organizations like Save the Bay are working together with local community groups to protect and restore the Bay through programs such as marsh restoration. Features interview with Marilyn Latta, former Save the Bay Habitat Restoration Manager.

Video producer: Rick Bacigalupi
