@Megamaniac610 Because the word for Mercury in Japanese is "suisei" and the first kanji means "water" and the second is "celestial object" (I don't know Japanese I just looked this up)

Also Naoko Takeuchi created Sailor Moon based off of mythology so it might have something to do with that too.
