On Thursday the 6th of May, 2010, at app 17.01, (5.01pm), a car was sitting inside the booms at the Heatherton Road level crossing, Noble Park, it was originally fouling or JUST clear of the Down line, before it BACKED UP, I always place the brake into emergency in these sort of situations, regardless of being clear or not, people make mistakes & we all have to make allowances for them & in this case it was worth it as the car originally backed off the crossing & as I got closer, it then drove across the crossing in front of me with the booms down. At least they gave way at the round about, I think. My train was the best train on the Melbourne Metro Trains network, a 6 car Siemens Train, on the 16.19 Down Pakenham Express No. 4613. I wonder how many Drivers are going to be peeved by the above comments.

  • Were you already stopped?

Car stopped on track behind other cars ahead stopped for a traffic signal?

  • @robertgift ..... No, as I said above, it was originally fouling or JUST clear of my track, the Down line, I put the train in emergency & as I was stopping the car backed up, well clear of the line, but still track side of boom barriers, as soon as he saw that I'd stopped, he calmly drove across in front of me. There are no traffic signals, just the bells, booms & flashing lights & a roundabout just over the line where he headed. Car stopped on line due to back up at the roundabout.

  • @muzzavideos Oh. Thank you. No earlier video of that?

Why not GENTLY stop and not emergency stop?

Emergency can cause passengers to fall and become injured.

Oh, so the dummy stopped ON the track behind other vehicles ahead which were conjesting going through the round-about and not a traffic signal? Thank you for explaining.

    Excellent quality video!

When I am driving red lights and siren, I have a 30-gig hardrive dash-mounted camcorderecording. Records 7 hours! Deletes in seconds.

  • @robertgift Had to stop in emergency, because as I said, he appeared to be foul of my line. Some times they panic & drive across in front of you, as the car did anyway & by putting it in emergency I stopped short of crossing. Hitting car would have been harder on standing passengers.

  • @robertgift I gather you must be a Policeman or similar, to have a dash cam & to be able to operate lights & siren. I noted you said , "deletes in seconds," We can't access internal on train video hard drives, Only the Police can. Unfortunately I don't have a dash cam on the train, but they can be a mixed blessing getting you out of trouble or into it.

  • @robertgift Regarding no earlier video, I only had a digital camera & didn't have it at the ready.
