ABC News - An estimated one in 17,000 Australians have albinism; a genetic condition which causes pale or white hair and skin due to a lack of melanin or pigment. Vision impairment is also a major concern for Australian's with albinism. However, in certain parts of Africa, people with albinism live in fear of attack because of a traditional belief that their bones have magical qualities.
