nice tutorial!! thank you very much!

@bozobozo When you add your media, there's options to concatenate to existing tracks or add to timeline, but there's also an option to create a new resource only. Make sure you're selecting that and apologies for the long response time!!

My Cinelerra did not load a "Media" folder... so all the videos I added were thrown in the timeline lol
Is that common in the newer versions? (Ubuntu 10.04)

You're just randomly showing us buttons. Stick to the task - loading a video into the program, learning what you can do on the compsitor window and when to move it into the timeline. Forget everything else! Try to stay focussed!

Thanks for these. I've edited with Avid for 16 years (and still do in the day job, I've used Ulead Media Studio Pro, Sony Vegas and now Magix Video Pro-X for my own business. Just put Linux Mint 10 on my laptop and am intrigued. I see similarities among them all here, which is a good thing. Keep it up, I';; go back to watching now. ;-)

HI, lovely tutorial and "focussed" enough for me anyway. ;) Thanx for the nice work and especially for the PAL settings - surely u manage to edit that part or a subtitle and include it, if u find some time, because that command won't be top soon...
Great Job!

I have .MOD files from my Canon camcorder but Cinelerra doesn't play them. When I change the extension to .MPG or .MPEG it indexes them a MPEG and starts playing but with no sound and at a fast playback speed (even at Normal Forward). Could you help?

@mrmahdiarnt I"m so sorry this fell through the cracks! You might want to download the .MOD file locally and convert it with mencoder (See my tuts) or WinFF - WinFF is a GUI for FFMPEG. I use it CONSTANTLY as it's way easier than command line. Plus you can save your stuff and drag and drop and convert/output multiple files at once.
