Topper is clearly high from 1:23, but you know he could very well have been in this taxi taking it to Electric Ladyland where he laid down all of Rock the Casbah by himself in late '81 the very night this video was taken.

Yep. I was there on night 2, with GMF, then The Sirens, then the Clash. Just blind luck I purchased the correct type of ticket and that the fire marshal closed it down the next night. This was the show that Steve Buscemi was at where we boo'ed GMF off the stage and Joe came out and read us the riot act for not giving them a chance. Threw cups at 'em, yes we did.
Next year they would write 'The Message', no doubt inspired by The Clash who wrote about what they saw in the westend.
