I've taken a Galaxy Roger Beep/Echo base microphone and did away with using a 9 volt battery. A 9 volt battery is made up of six - 'AAAA' 1.5 volt. Grabbed a RC battery pack hold that will take six - 'AA' 1.5 volt. Battery of choice for this project Energizer Ultimate Lithium! Loads of long lasting power. Going on the two year mark on these batteries from when this was used on a Cobra 2000 GTL. Was not completely happy with the standard Galaxy gooseneck microphone. Replaced it with one that has a better overall sound quality for a Workman DM502B desk microphone. Perfect match. My newest second station is located here at the computer desk. The Cobra 2000 now has a brother. This Cobra 29 LTD "Army" Strong Edition, 'Corporal Bulldog' Version is one of a kind ass kicking rig! Look me up on Facebook - Bulldog Radio Communications.
