Me playing clawhammer banjo after having it for one week, showing some basic downpicking and a couple chords. When I learn something new, I tend to fixate on what I don't know or can't do, so I'm making videos to show myself my progress later. The "ScreenFlow Demo" text is because I didn't buy the video software yet. Thanks to Mike Iverson for his online lessons at http://www.bluesageband.com/Tabs.html

  • @jsibleytube thank you for the help I just got a great deal on a 5 string banjo the other day, I got it on sale for 260 when it was listed at 599, I've been practicing since I got it home, still can't play any thing really yet

  • @coochiemama511 Mike Iverson will be a big help. I can't put a link here, but you can do a search for "Mike Iverson Clawhammer" and find his stuff.

  • I am looking to buy a banjo, but not sure what to get since I'm new to this I play a little guitar but really wanna play banjo, what should I get, looking for something at most $300 maybe $500 to play on, wanna know a good beginner banjo

  • @coochiemama511 Do you want to play clawhammer style, like this? Be sure of that -- banjos are different, depending on what style you want to play. For clawhammer, this Gold Tone CC-OT is perfect for learning. Just under $500, I think.

  • thanks for sharing! just got a banjo and cool to se someone else who isnt really good..hahah hope your still playing!

  • Very nice....leave your thumb on the top string ...try not to bounce it up and you will have a great hand shape & sound. at (56) bend the thumb a tad more and rest it on the string....keep on practicing!!!!! Yeah!
