According to Robert Stinnett, author of Simon & Schuster's Day Of Deceit, we have the proof. Stinnett's book is dedicated to Congressman John Moss, the author of America's Freedom of Information Act. According to Stinnett, the answers to the mysteries of Pearl Harbor can be found in the extraordinary number of documents he was able to attain through Freedom of Information Act requests. Cable after cable of decryptions, scores of military messages that America was intercepting, clearly showed that Japanese ships were preparing for war and heading straight for Hawaii. Stinnett, an author, journalist, and World War II veteran, spent sixteen years delving into the National Archives. He poured over more than 200,000 documents, and conducted dozens of interviews. This meticulous research led Stinnet to a firmly held conclusion: FDR knew.

You really need to do some more research then. I strongly recommend you read "Day of Deceit" and see if you still hold the same views as your last message below says.

@Nikopolis1912 i dont think there was a conspiracy to let Japan attack pearl harbor just because the American public did not want to go to war again. (this is similar to the loonies trying to argue that 9/11 was a conspiracy.)
this argument is made by people who cant stand the humiliation of being attacked and make up a strory which makes their government look smarter and in control.

@vjanik
Due to the terrible experiences in the trench warfare of the First World War, the American people were against any involvement in the new war in Europe.

@vjanik Same reason as 9/11...recruits. 9/11 we were attacked and, just as with Pearl harbor, americans flockedto their recruiting offices

@Roadracer987654321 why go through all this trouble? why not just declare war on Germany when the British and French did it wjen Hitler invaded Poland?? Whats the point of wating to be attacked in order to help an ally?

Of Course FDR Meaneuvered an Allowed the Japanese to attack US Territory.It just turned out to be Pearl Harbor. There was a Treaty Between Japan,Italy an Germany that if any one Country of those 3 was attacked then the other 2 Nations would and could go to war agasints teh attacker. Letting Japan attack a US Territory brought us into war with Japan and in turn with Germany . we the ncould defend England against Nazi Germany.

Once again, Napolitano gets it wrong: FDR ATTACKED the Japanese, as well as the Germans, long BEFORE Pearl Harbor.
