The pastor continuously dismisses Dawkins as being arrogant. He's doing that in order to discredit Dawkins' sources. He's using an ad hominid attack to counter an appeal to authority. Dawkins says "These smart people know things and say X". Pastor says "It's arrogant to assume that these experts know things". Doesn't change the fact that the experts agree with Dawkins' position. Being arrogant doesn't make what they say any less true, particularly when there's evidence.

The whole arrogance thing is an argument to try to justify ignorance as a defense for something. If I were to perform a integration on a a formula, some where like 90% of the population wouldn't know if it was right or wrong. You can't tell me that it's not right, simply because you don't understand it, and you can't tell me I'm arrogant, because I know the answer, and I'm saying it's right.

Then turn around and say people from 1500 years ago, knew everything, and it's right just because.
