Nigel Benn VS. Gerald McClellan - 2/25/95 - Part 6 - After The Fight!

Part 6 of 6: In one of the most aggressive fights ever, Nigel Benn wins as Gerald McClellan takes a knee in the 10th Round and is unable to continue. It would be the end of McClellan's career as he collapsed after the fight. He was rushed to the hospital where he spent 11 days in a coma. When he woke up he was unable to walk, blind and 80% deaf.

If there was a Hall of Fame for complete Assholes, Ferdie Pacheco would have a statue the size of the collosus of Rhodes, dedicated to his assholeness and assholes the world over would come and pay tribute and lay flowers at its foostep.

The man's moronity is beyond question. McClellan took heavy head shots throughout the bout and he starts whining about Benn's hair flopping into his eyes as he fell down?

Then he waffles about neck braces and orbits. The man is an incomprehensible idiot.

Nigel has got a heart of an unstoppable lion and is one of the greatest boxers ever to come out of the uk. JUST MY OPINION.

Remember watching this fight and my first thought was that Benn was an ass, but its clear he was running on adrenaline and overjoyed. As we since learned it was a HUGE payday for him and basically set him up for life. He had no way of knowing what the problem was with Gerald. Remember McClelland hurt Benn BADLY in this fight and as someone mentioned was taken to hospital afterward. This fight ended two bright careers and is a sad reminder of the fragility of life. Can we not leave it at that?

why is everone hating on Nigel Ben. he is a boxer, he did his boxing. Mc Clennan team should of throw the towel in as he was blinking and struggling

@lickybits. He was blinking and his gum shield was hanging out of his mouth from round 4.McLellan's corner are too blame, they should have thrown the towel in at 5. G-Man had complained of blinding headaches after his previous fight but not reported it to the British Boxing Board of doctors as the fight wouldn't have gone ahead.They underestimated Benn who was giving away 4 inches in height/ reach etc.He was on his ass 3 times and headbutted every 2 seconds. Benn had a stronger heart

Tragic! Very tragic!! But I cannot emphasize enough that Gerald fought the wrong fight; he did too much loading up on punches and not enough boxing to set up big punches. I still love U, G-man!!!
