UETAX exhibited the UM-195A underwater microphone with advanced waterproof characteristics at Inter BEE 2008, which was held at the Makuhari Messe convention center. The microphone, which was developed exclusively for underwater applications, features a fully waterproof design and is also an all-weather, waterproof microphone that can be used the same way as ordinary microphones in rain and harsh environments. The microphone cord can extend up to 100m.

Patents on this underwater microphone have been obtained worldwide, and because it is produced in Japan, it offers both superior quality and excellent technical capabilities. UETAX anticipates that use of the new microphone will flourish for outdoor broadcasting applications.

Because of its compact power amplifier, the new microphone also features a convenient, portable structure and can be used to pick up sounds when observing animal life or in other applications.
