The events are called Autotests and have been running since around 1960!
This event is called the Ken Wharton International Autotests and runs every year in England. It attracts teams from England, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Wales and perhaps Scotland will return one day.
Oh, the driver is Christopher Evans from Ireland who went on to win (I think) the British Rallycross Championship
