Me playing the second movement of Mozart's flute concerto no. 2 (which was originally an oboe concerto).
I'm not sure I'll be posting the 3. movement because it's quite tricky, but I'll try :)
This arrangement is by Jean-Pierre Rampal, and so is the cadenza.

  • Nice job! This is really hard to play well. However, you're intonation is a little off at times. Just remeber to keep the air and diaphragm support up, and you'll be fine. Use more warm air and more vibrato as well.

You have a bright future in the flute, so keep it up!

  • Hi, thanks for the nice comment and the constructive criticism! I've worked a lot on my intonnation since then fortunately^^

  • -Well done young sir. Bravo!

  • Thanks! I'm very glad you liked it :)

  • very nice preformance!! just try to work on your pitch, its your worst enemy when playing solo or small groups.

  • Thanks for the comment :)

My teacher has also told me I should watch out for pitch, I'll try to work some more on it :p

But the mike probably also barries a bit of the blame, flutes are a real hell to get into a microphone from a 15 $ headset lol ^^

  • Work on your pitch. but other than that you did great!

  • Damn. you are cute as hell! .... p.s. - watch the higher notes.... tuck tthem in a bit more ;)

  • ^,~ realy nice! thank you a lot! you motivate me to go and practice nowxDDD!

  • with the breath is short on some notes... still lack a lot of technique.

  • im playing the same concerto for senior recital this second movement has got been the most fun for me to do there are so many differnt tempos to take and you do a reaky good job!! just work on hold the ties to ur high notes (i have trouble with those too lol) have fun its a great moovement!

  • I am teaching myself to play the flute. I hope I get to be as good as you are. Thanks for uploading this video! You are my new inspiration!! =) Keep up the awesome work!

  • Don't let the tuning get you down too much. I found having a tuner handy all the time will gradually give you an idea of where the note should really be. When you play more in tune, you'll start to enjoy your own playing even more (it'll sound "pretty"), which will inspire you to greater things.

  • Intonation is a huge problem. Get a tuning device to attach to your flute via mike until you develop your ear enough to detect when you are out-of-tune - which is throughout. It's just a matter of still having an undeveloped embouchure. At your level (age) you definitely need to be incorporating a better vibrato into your study of the flute if you want to get anywhere at all. All in all a fair effort.

  • keep working...

  • Nice to hear man! And your welcome for my subscription to your videos and the constructive criticism.
