Kayla, a former gymnast, has been paralyzed from the waist down for more than a year. She needs some simple repairs to her home so that she can live a normal life and she needs your help to make that happen.
I am hearing how hard this all is. But isn't anybody working w/this woman to teach her to do as many things as possible for herself? I have a friend who became a para at age 20 something. She lives alone and is self-sufficient. It was hard, but once she learned to do it, she knew how.
I really sucks to have chronic pain. I fucked up my back 1 year ago and i have spinal stenosis and i suffer from sciatic pain in both of my legs. I still try to be active and I look more fit than some people who don't have an injury
I used to show dogs.....#1 in the nation....i had to run with my animals...now i'm a c6 quad at 11 years old. I know how it feels... *hugs to you and your family*
I have sciatic nerve problems that weakens my left side. I am a dancer and it is hard to get through barre, but somehow I do it. My left leg gets really numb sometimes and that makes it harder. My goal in life is to have a dance class for the disabled and special needs. If I could have this, I would welcome Kayla.
I know how you feel! I was a competitive figure skater, and one week after Provincials I was paralyzed from the chest down with Transverse Myelitis. I lost the use of my left leg first, then a few hrs later my right. My home is nowhere near adapted to suit me.. Hope you get yours done ASAP!
